The fixed cost that no one puts on the spreadsheet: suffering.
In any project analysis, we calculate fixed costs. But what about in life?
Suffering is a fixed and inevitable cost. Whether in the search for stability (married, employee) or in the search for freedom (single, entrepreneur), there will always be a price to pay. The strategic mistake is not suffering, but suffering for a goal that is not aligned with your values. As the video says, if your goal is outside your ‘budget’ for suffering, you have two options: choose a cheaper one or increase your willingness to pay. The price is non-negotiable.
Have you ever done the ‘suffering calculation’ for your goals? It is an exercise in brutal clarity, but a necessary one. Share your perspective.
